FAQ

Global Scholars Foundations (GSF) is a language and culture immersion program that incorporates college readiness, financial literacy and culture and language into a three phase 18-month program.

GSF is free for District Public and Public Charter high school students. During the months of June, July, and August, students are paid through the SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program).

GSF students must be a DC Public or Public Charter school student in grades 9-12 and must be at least 14 years of age and no older than 18 years of age to join. Students must submit a completed application and follow up interview.

We are looking for students who are not overly committed and are looking to do something different. Students who can really gain something from the program and contribute to the program through interactions with fellow participants.

We provide information sessions for churches and schools to ensure that all students and community members have access to information about our program. Academic leaders can schedule these sessions to assist us in the promotion of our program. It is imperative to schedule these sessions prior to the Application deadlines to ensure that interested students have ample time to complete the application requirements.
